Meta tag is used within head tag, which holds Meta information about the Document.
Here I will Describe only two meta tags which will help Search Engine robots to know more about your website. But please make this thing clear that Google robots are not interested in the information provided by meta tags they prefer to look In your web page for more details.

Description- Meta tag

This tag describes your website therefore use this tag to describe your website using all the relevant keywords. And please do not Spam this with key words because it may not help you at all on the other hand some website will not index your website.

This way you may describe about your website in easiest way possible with keywords in the description tag. Look I am not populating my description with one keyword.
